What a weekend! In what felt like the fastest two days ever, we managed to come together with an amazing team and shoot the vast majority of our demo-pilot for True Stories of the Ridiculous.
Over the past two months work has been slowly chugging along on this pilot. The basic premise, if you haven’t checked out its page (HERE) is that we took real life stories, filmed them being told by the people involved, and then shot a recreation of the events. But, unlike a lot of these types of shows, we leaned heavy into the comedy (or, the ridiculous). Think Drunk History but without the historical settings. These are the stories told over and over at parties, that though they’re true, they have been exagerated and condensed over years of retellings.
As you can imagine, with a premise like that, we had a lot of fun shooting it. Our main goals were to keep the tone of the shoot as light and fun as the material itself. And, with a story all about guys casually hitting each other in the dick, it was easy to keep the tone pretty casual.
Thanks to everyone who came out to help the entire weekend went amazingly. Some things turned out differently than they were planned, but in nearly every instance that was for the better. By the end of these two days we captured things ranging from beautiful to sexy, from realistic to outlandish, and quite a bit in between.
As was mentioned above, this was not the whole episode. We still have a few inserts and tiny scenes that couldn’t quite fit into our schedule, and of course there is all of the editing needed to put it all together. But, what remains is so small that this marks the point where most of our cast and crew are fully wrapped.
Thank you once again to everyone who helped out. All of your hard work could not have been more appreciated. None of this would have been possible (or nearly as fun) without you! Thank you!
